Hole is a band started in LA, USA in 1989, founded by Courtney Michelle Harrison (or Courtney Love) and Eric Erlandson. They debuted with their album, Pretty On The Inside, with drummer Patty Schemel and Kristen Pfaff as their bassist. With an album produced by Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, they attracted British and American alternative press.
They made their 2nd studio album in 1994 called Live Through This. LTT was a massive hit, making waves across the USA, getting platinum in the same year of it's release, and critical acclaim.
They made their 3rd studio album in 1998, Celebrity Skin. Also got the same type of attention as LTT, with CS having more rythmical structure and the least hardcore album.
Lastly, their not-quite-really 4th studio album, Nobody's Daughter. I say not-quite-really because it's basically just a Courtney Love (solo album) released under the Hole name.
Hole disbanded in 2002, with the members continuing to pursue their solo careers after.
