Parents who won't stop talking

My dad never shuts up. He drone on for hours if he wants to. His favorite thing to do is complain. Just complain and yell and mutter swears under his breath long enough to send any sane person into an asylum. Jesust christ i had multiple, multiple hour long car drives in which he'd just yell at me, not even let me butt in a single word then reply with "why are you so quiet? Do you have nothing to say?" . Right now he was complaining about the smell in his room, complaining about the cat because he thinks she might've pissed on the carpet. Instead of washing the fucking carpet, or buying a new one, or even just throwing it out, he just complains and mutters swears about it. It genuienly drives me crazy.
