POTW:
"Butterfly Covered Tree"
Tex Berdfleu
This photo was taken on 5/17/23, in the wooded area near a Frisbee park I would often go to in McKinney, TX. When the stress of life would get to me, and I needed alone time, this park was beautiful. Reminded me of the Frisbee park in "Your Boyfriend", where you meet Peter for the first time. It gave me a strange sense of comfort. However, off the trail, was a sleu of trees, nature spots, open areas, so much to explore. At times I felt like a kid again, exploring it all. I had always been a very outdoorsy person, and my recent bout of photography only encouraged that. I came across trees that seemed to be.. moving?.. I Approached, and to my utter delight, monarchs everywhere! As a child I was deathly afraid of these little guys, but I adore them now. They would land on me at times when I was taking photos of them, and were ever so friendly. If I had to count them, I would have been there forever. It felt nice, going somewhere so full of nature, untouched and unmolested by the blight of mankind.. well at least until I got there. I promise though, I never left trash! This one is one of my best photos of that year, by far.
