Average experience of psychiatric hospitalization

So yes, I had a psychiatric hospitalization a week ago.  (Spoiler: It wasn't very nice)

So... How should I even start talking about this??? . I always thought since I was little that only crazy people were admitted to hospitals for mental health problems.

It's hard for me to say if I'm someone crazy.

But anyway. So yeah, this is what you need to know about what an average psychiatric hospitalization experience is like.

A psychiatric hospitalization is when you are admitted to a medical clinic because your integrity or that of others is at risk due to your mental health. This can include many things, violent behavior, SH, eating disorders, trying to despawn you  , etc.

In my case it was due to a SH crisis (yes, kinda hard, but don't worry about me)

I entered an emergency room last Tuesday due to that crisis. I was examined by a psychologist at the public hospital where I was taken. I was kept under observation for a few hours. A psychiatrist came to examine me, of whom I had already been a patient before and who was the one who supplied my medications for anxiety

I was taken to a bed in the public hospital where I was treated.

I don't know if I'll be transferred to a psychiatric hospital because there isn't one in my city that treats pediatric patients. My transfer to another hospital outside my city hasn't been authorized.

So . How is the experience?

They'll be monitoring you all day, every day. In my case, they put a catheter in me in case they needed to do blood tests or hand me over.

In general, I spent the whole week under observation without doing much, just lying in bed, checking my cell phone or talking to my mom (who was watching me with the doctors)

I was discharged from the hospital a week after my admission.

Actually, I think the experience was strange.

Idk, I just thought it was an interesting thing to talk about, I hope if anyone goes through the same thing as me, they get the attention they need.

In fact, I personally do not have such an exciting experience. But I can say that in our country it is not very good to be observed by a psychiatrist at all:( If they find you have at least some small problems, you will not be able to drive a car and many employers will treat you with great caution. I hope you will not have any problems with this in the future?

I'm actually from Mexico, I guess you're from the USA, but yes, actually the psychiatric service, especially in public health services, is not very good :/
