20 weeks of paramore - week 2

“rewind to the first time…”

week 2! my resolve hasn’t broken yet. 

the second song i’d like to highlight in this little project is rewind, a demo off of the riot album that wasn't officially released worldwide, but in a special uk version? a limited version. it's sometimes considered one of the b-sides. (and to riff off of my past blog post about the b-sides, they're a fan compilation of demos, covers, etc. from awkif to riot eras.)

i also always thought it was a nice touch how the song faded out instead of having a concrete ending. suits the song and the lyrics really well, in my opinion. the singer's partner isn't trustworthy, at all, to say the least. they lie constantly, and its led the relationship down a slippery slope of false promises and running away. it needs to end; "don't tell me lies, just say goodbye." ending on that line, with the instrumental fading out. the singer is walking away into a better future, more truthful than before.
