Long Crazy Rant™ about AI

AI sucks! (Insane statement, I know.. /sar) but why is that? 

AI has been sinking it's disgusting (derogatory) claws and teeth into the poor flesh of the internet, and has been doing so for a while now. Mainly in the form of AI powered assistants! Now, this (on the surface) seems like we might finally get the futuristic future that all those old movies had promised us! However, it seems like this dystopian timeline we live in has ruined yet another concept. 

AI is trained by stealing people posts, pictures, stories, and art (and lately has also been using videos more often) to the point that it has become the most soulless version of plagiarism to have ever existed! I myself have had my own writing fed to an AI (in my case, someone took the plot, title, and first two paragraphs and used them to make a Character.ai bot.) And have also found out that my old DeviantART posts may have been fed to an AI. 

Of course, these are fairly minor and I doubt that many care if some 12 year olds shitty creepypasta oc chart has an AI feeding on it, that still doesn't excuse the countless cases of genuinely talented creators getting pushed out of their jobs because corporations favor the slop that they don't have to pay for over the talent and wellbeing of other human beings. 

Not to mention the threat of deep fakes! I've seen ads today using AI voices and AI people, it honestly triggered my fight or flight- Sadly the internet might be full of mostly AI by the time I'm 80 (if the internet is still around by then). 

My least favorite AI is currently ChatGPT. I hate it for many reasons, but the main one is this:

-If everyone uses ChatGPT to get through high school and college, we're all gonna die. 

And I don't think I'm over reacting! If I need surgery, I don't want someone who only passed because they copied and pasted their way through projects!
