Roblox: Powering Imagination

Hello there!!! this is going to be sort of a retrospective thingy on Roblox as a whole, Or atleast I think that's what you'd call this? IDK!!! this is simply me yapping about the state of Roblox and Roblox history (DISCLAIMER: THIS IS VERY DISORGANIZED)

Roblox has always been such a unique platform honestly and even though I think there has been a decline quality wise (mostly from Roblox themself) I think it's still a great place and an excellent platform. Me personally I have fond memories of discovering Roblox via my friends and consuming content related to it, playing dumb things like make a cake for a giant noob, I still remember when Roblox HighSchool seemed to constantly be on the front page no matter what. I loved playing through some of the old Events whenever they happened, they were a blast! Basically what im saying is, i've always appreciated and loved Roblox, and still do.

I've been playing on Roblox for quite a while, now im not someone who joined back in OLD old Roblox (plus most of my accounts being lost/me not even having an account when I first joined), but I've seen it go through so many changes, for better, or for worse, I still remember when Tix were around, when Guests existed, when the equivalent of Roblox Premium was Builder's Club, and it's so odd to see how minimalistic modern Roblox has become, it's odd cause it feels so antithetical for what Roblox was claiming it was doing. Powering Imagination.

Now that we got that rant over, let's talk about what I think is actually still good on Roblox; The Games! Well, most of them. There's been alot of great games come out and I still think that even some of the older ones hold up even if they dont really have much a playerbase. For me personally, it's so fun to spot trends in Roblox games, there's been quite a few over the years, one trend im glad we're basically rid of is Simulator games. While you can still find Simulator games on the front page occasionally, it's nothing like it used to be, and im so glad about that, it was hell. I think one of the more recent trends among games though is probably battlegrounds games, I know it's slowed down quite a bit but there's quite a lot.

One thing I find neat is seeing Roblox games that have been around for a while that just will not die, like, Adopt Me is still quite popular for some odd reason, and I know that Murder Mystery 2 is still active, and of course Natural Disaster Survival is still pretty popular. I think it's neat some games just wont die no matter what, and it's probably due to the fact they're, yknow, good games (Well I could argue against Adopt Me but i'm not gonna get into that). However there's also the opposite side of the coin with old games that were classics but have fallen off in popularity. Like games like Epic Minigames, now dont get me wrong, Epic Minigames still averages a few thousand players but it's nothing like the popularity it used to have. There's probably others that are examples of this but I cant name them off the top of my head, although there is The Normal Elevator but that one is a unique circumstance, since it has a modern day equivalent with Regretavator.

Speaking of Regretavator, sometimes I think "Why has Regretavator developed such a huge fanbase, isnt it bascially a remake of The Normal Elevator?" and then I realize that back then, The Normal Elevator was quite popular too, but then again i'm not sure if that game ever formed a proper fanbase, what I think Regretavator did was take a concept that was already executed in the past, yet introduced it to a newer generation of Robloxians (I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS A BAD THING, NOR AM I SAYING REGRETAVATOR IS AN EXACT COPY OF THE NORMAL ELEVATOR, I THINK IT'S REALLY NEAT) Now I could be completely wrong, I only played the game once and not for that long but I think that introducing new robloxians to older concepts is a really neat thing.

Speaking of old concepts being introduced, let's talk avatars, I've noticed that most avatars really consistently look similar, I dont know how to describe it but if you pay attention you know what im talking about, I really thought this was kinda lame at first "aw man what happened to individuality" or some dumb thing like that, but there's always been trends with avatar customization and I cant really deny that, to say otherwise would be straight up denying Roblox history and feels like looking through rose tinted glasses. Although I know there are some people who dislike how new avatars are but honestly, I feel like this is nostalgia talking, customization is at it's peak with Roblox, and that's a good thing, just because some avatars have a similar stye doesn't mean that all individuality is lost on the platform, you dont have to style your avatar like everyone else's. You can simply be you with your avatar customization, that's what I've done atleast, none of my items are from UGC, they're all official Roblox items, mostly coming from events, it's me, and that's nice.

I know some of this sounds like me just complaining about some of new Roblox but that's not my intention, I love both old Roblox and current Roblox, both of them have their definite flaws and I wont deny that, I love Roblox, always have and always will. This is mostly just me sharing random thoughts I have involving the game, hope it was atleast a nice read, and to any Robloxian reading this, have a nice day! ^-^

P.S. Builderman, give me back good quality Events
