No bullshit answer from someone who actually listens to them: they're problematic. A lof ot people feel like they can't separate the art from the artist, especially in cases like MSI where part of the problematic stuff is in the lyrics (see panty shot lol). And that's valid tbh, and they have all the rights to judge you, especially if you are not disclosing that you do not support the band or endorse them.
I also think there's a huge difference between casually listening to them, and proclaiming to be "a fan". Because honestly that's weird. I like the music but I'd never call myself a fan after what came out about what Jimmy did. I find it wild that there's still people making thirst traps over him when he has been accused of grooming, and that kind of behavior totally goes beyond just "listening to the music".
Long story short: if you casually listen to them without financially supporting them and make clear you don't defend them, most people won't care. Some will still be uncomfortable with it, but that's their right tbh. Not everyone has to vibe with you.
If you, however, make posts about the members, have the band name in your username, or call yourself a fan then yeah. Most people aware of the history behind the band will actually stay away.
Either way, it's their right to think you're weird. And you calling them poser and cottagecore or whatever is honestly cringe
