Nostalgia: Listening to music I listened to when I was 10

Like most interests in life, people's taste in music changes as we grow. Through social media like TikTok, we find different songs and kinds of music. We find new genres and albums and artists. Over time, my taste in music has evolved from pop-ish to strictly rock to now a little bit of everything (but still mainly rock hehehe).

But for awhile there, when I was about 10-13, I had branched out to what people would call an "emo"(?) phase. Although I wouldn't necessarily call it "emo" (and I think that definition got pretty muddled over time), this was when I was listening to bands like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Pierce The Veil, Falling In Reverse, (EARLY) Panic! At The Disco, Evanescence, Twenty One Pilots(?), American Football, and Tokio Hotel. Again, I would not consider most of these bands "emo" but I guess they get kinda grouped into that genre based on perspective.

Well, as time passed, I found different genres and artists. And for years, I just stopped listening to these artists completely.

But recently, as in the past few months, I started listening to these bands again, and I got a huge rush of nostalgia. All the memories of me listening to "Vessel" from Twenty One Pilots on my iPhone 6 in the car came back, or me jamming out to "The Drug In Me Is You" from Falling In Reverse in my room. I also used to watch a bunch of lyric/MV YouTube videos on my little iPhone that my dad let me borrow.

I guess it hasn't just been music that has been nostalgic for me recently, also video games and movies and websites and tv shows. I guess me getting older has made me not want to get older. Things change, and I absolutely hate change.
