Time Stops When The Sun Goes Down

The morning breaks like shattered glass,

I stare up at the sky reminiscing over the past

I chase their echoes down the hall

But time just laughs, and lets them fall

The sun climbs higher, and the noon bell rings

Another day, the same old things

I blink- my youth is in the dust

A distant dream, a hollow husk

I blink again- another man is wearing my face

The sun sinks lower, and whispers to me

The voice that tells me all I’ll know

Every breath is on the run,

Every race is lost when won

The sun is gone, there is a chill in the air

A sound fades, and has no heir

I feel the weight of years unfold

The hand that ticks, but never holds

Ill know the clock was never really mine,

Just borrowed breath, borrowed time.

(this one was inspired by Pink Floyd's time)
