I yap about my interests for too long and BIRTHDAY!!!

Hi everyone!! 
I feel I should start off by talking about my birthday!! I turned 16! Pretty scary age. It's kinda weird, cuz I feel 16 and know I'm 16 but part of me feels like I'm still 11 or 12. I don't want to grow up yk?? It's scary to think I'll be an adult in two years....
Here are some presents I got!!

I got some owl city vinyls ! !  ! MY FAVORITE ALBUMS TOO!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE All Things Bright and Beautiful and Ocean eyes so so so much!! Collecting physical media (especially when it's related to my interests) is so AWSOME dude!! The sound that comes from these is so good bro omg I'll have to make sure to take good care of them.

SO far in my Owl City collection I have Of June, Maybe I'm Dreaming, Ocean Eyes, All things Bright and Beautiful and The Midsummer Station as CDs and NOW THE VINYLS TOOO REEEE!! I wanna try find the deluxe version of OE somewhere and somehow lolol.

I first got into Owl City and Adam's music in late 2019 to early 2020, and it's kinda a funny story. I was shown the music video for Fireflies by my mother one day (after having heard the song before ofc) and idk what happened but that night I could not sleep. I was up thinking about the music video, the music, the melodies, the lyrics. I cried just from how beautiful I found the song and from how much it emotionally impacted me that day. Bear in mind I was 10 YEARS OLD. 
I later found myself finding songs on YouTube from this Owl City, and my parents got me an MP3 player and added on some albums and boiiIII it was all I would listen too. Every day on repeat. 

The obsession has never really ended lol. This is what happens when you get into Owl City during your developmental years when you're the most impressionable. 
If anything the obsession GREW. It expanded. I got into other works by Adam, other bands he was a part of. My special interest isn't just Owl City bro it's Adam's music in general. He's such a musical genius.
And sure I'm into other things and had times in my life where I didn't listen to much Owl City but Owl City is really what makes me happy yk? It makes me feel the most like.. well.. me.

Owl City and Adam's music feels like the very fundamentals of my sense of self and personality. I struggle to put how I feel about the music into words because it's beyond words. My whole life and worldview and everything is based off of these songs and lyrics and their whimsy and magic. Everything else about me is built on top of Adam Young and Owl City, with the music being the very scaffolding. "Pillars of post-war books supported my frame of mind" except its not books its Owl City. And I don't care what anyone says about Owl City or how it's cringe or whatever, because it's just who I am. I won't stop loving the music.

Anyways this has kinda been just an odd little yap session about my interests but dude I just LOVE Adam's music. If anyone has any weird little obsessions I would love to hear about them :))
