Videogames I played 2025

A list of all the games i played this year! This post is NOT SPOILER FREE!

1. The Forest (Horror/Survival): 7/10, too much tension; couldn't find the child; this game abused me, it's difficult but very well made, if you can handle high stress levels play it, if not definetely don't.

2. Undertale (Adventure Rpg): 9.5/10, love it till the end where it got a little too complicated; the whole "Determination" thing, not giving up on others and the whole mechanic of the game are priceless, a game that truly changed the way me and others see other games, I really wish more games used the same mechanic of not actually having to hurt your enemies to go on.

+ a game about compassion, hope and death.

3. Slay the Princess - pristine cut (Horror/Adventure): 8.5/10, seen a few gameplays, liked it, when i played it ofc I didn't want to hear all the dialogues; don't completely agree with its philosophy; a beautiful game about love, conflict and more; never seen a game talk about such topics; a strong game that is not for everybody

TW: GORE IN THE GAME!

4. Red Dead Redemption 2 (Adventure): STILL PLAYING; can't follow all of the dialogues in camp and feel like I'm missing something...?; Great storytelling :) Best character rn: Mary-Beth, Karen, Tilly and Sadie ofc; got the whole plot spoiled

Feel free to give me games recommendations!

I went into Slay the Princess solely based on the artwork and wow what an interesting game.. molding somebody based on your choices. Usually visual novels aren't my thing but this was pretty cool.

Hell yeah, I think it’s kinda inevitable being “molded” even in real life if you think of it, in the end even the protagonist is changing when he sees himself in the mirror after seeing the princess (+ I love the phrase the narrator says when you ask him why you decided to see a princess and not something else, and he just says something like “because you just wanted to.”, and wow.
It just makes you think about the nature of opposites and attraction: they are completely opposite forces, but they have to meet at some point, it’s inevitable, and I think itms fascinating how the protagonist thinks immediately of change itself as a beautiful princess)

Your post inspired me to binge the game again and the amount of new stuff added is kinda insane. Leaving together not as gods, but as two consciousnesses deeply in love was to me the most satisfying ending. At first I was a little sad there was no epilogue but like you said, they were yin and yang, opposites attracted, parts of the same whole.. and in a way it was inevitable that they would meet at the door to the unknown. No matter what the world they step into will hold they will finally be able to simply love each other and be together (without destroying the world in the process). What did you think about the endings?

Hey! I played only one ending, where you just leave with the princess after you talked to her god form.
I think the reason why I don’t completely agree with it’s philosophy it’s mainly because of one phrase that the princess says in the end if you go back to the cabin to talk to her: “she looks very lonely, with this idea of holding the truth”, and I think it’s both right and wrong at the same time. I mean you’re talking about the incarnation of the concept of change and evolution, she is so complicated as a concept that you cannot really argue with her, but at the same time the long quiet also has truth in them: you need balance, a firm spot where nothing moves.
That’s life and humanity, and they’re not exactly human, but they can choose to be.
How difficult are human relationships, finding balance between two who are so different, isn’t it?

Hey! Humans are fickle :p and the line of equilibrium, between symbiosis and differentiation, can be hard to find. But it's interesting how I view the Shifting Mound and the Long Quiet to be so human.

the forest was so fun, especially once you get over how creeped out you get from the mutants and you go all out on them. It was cool knowing that they patrol the island and siege your base or wherever you stay the longest.
