CRUSHED CREATION
Do you know how it feels
To feel the first spark of creation snuff out
Between your fingertips?
I have done it many times. Over and over.
I think I shall do it until I have grown bored.
It does not feel like much. It is not a grand event,
Where atoms and cosmos explode and combust
Into a billion lights too marvelous for humans
To wrap their heads around; the first spark
Is merely that.
A spark.
And to feel its light and energy sizzle
Into the tips of your thumb and forefinger
Feels like the first taste of madness
In a frantic mind.
Each time I have reset the universe,
I wait a while,
Dawdling in that emptiness,
Until I sense its approach,
And lure it towards me
Right into my hands.
Do you know how it feels
To crush the dust of life
Between your fingertips?
To grind the atoms until there is
Nothing left?
I have done it many times.
I believe I shall never stop.
