BEFORE YOU COME AT ME, JUST HEAR ME OUT!!!!!
First things first: I understand why people don't like the game, I however like it for a good couple of reasons.
Listen, I understand why people don't like the reboot. It just doesn't fit with the other games, the story and characters were changed a lot to the point where it doesn't feel like a DMC game at all. They specifically altered Dante's character considerably and the plot is completely different. The designs are also nothing like the OG, because they wanted to game to feel less fantasy and more edgy I guess? The DMC reboot isn't the worst game in the series, that award goes the Devil May Cry 2, which is definitely over-hated but in general unpolished compared to the others. Especially if we compare the second game to DMC3, which is a masterpiece. Now, the reboot isn't my favorite game in the series but I am on its defense. The reboot was my first impression of the Devil May Cry series and it made me want to play the other games. Yes, some of the scenes are a little cringe but are we gonna pretend there are no cringe scenes in the other games?
"I should have saved you...I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with light!!!"
Are you gonna look at me and say that scene isn't just a little cringe. (≖_≖ )
I do however like the reboot. The game mechanics and combos are fun, the weapon are really well designed and over all the gameplay is great. As i mentioned before, the reboot was the first DMC game i ever played and i liked it so much that i decided to check out the other games which i absolutely (obviously) love. My favorite part of the reboot is the soundtrack. The soundtrack was the whole reason I started listening to Combichrist and got into industrial metal and the Cybergoth scene. Again all of this is my own opinion. Happy gaming, jellybeans!
