I was watching this video on why period-pieces don't feel as time-period immersive anymore, but before continuing I wanted to make a note on the following phrasing -
"Then, with the rise of Hollywood's golden age, beauty started to shift to a new kind of cinematic perfection. This era introduced the concept of the 'movie star glamour' -- where lighting, make-up and cinematography worked together to create an enhanced, but still believable look."
"Think of Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Vivien Leigh -- their faces were striking and polished, but not to the point of looking artificial. They still had natural skin texture, expressive lines and features that hadn't been overly sculpted. Beauty was enhanced, but not transformed."
I just thought dang, that's accurate.
