The story of anger (short story)

This is a powerful emotion that will either change you for the better or for the worst!  This is the ultimate choose your own adventure  but with real consequences!  For one there was a boy named Johnny who didn't like chores and why should someone his age group care for them!  Whenever Johnny was asked to do the smallest thing he would go insane and not want to do it.   Like any other kid!  But there was something different, Johnny had rages that were always horrible for him as well the people around him!   One day he was watching  a good movie which was something he enjoyed as it kept his rage down!  But then an old frail man asked for him to help build his fence!   The boy's mother politely asked the boy to help the old man!

"No!" He said curtly!  But the mother insisted for him to help with the fence!  But the mother and the boy where getting hot headed as well as they started to argue!   That was the final straw that broke the camels back!   The kid got up recreating the gate of a zombie and went to do this job for the neighbour!

The kid started to take the hammer and started to whack at the nails enraged hoping that this will make the job disappear forever.   But he was just whacking at stuff and not really doing a good job!  The old man, so frail and getting annoyed  went to yell at Johnny and then Johnny responded the best way he knew how.

He shoved the man out of his way and started to run to his house.     The fact that he attacked the old man did not bother him as much as doing the favour for him.

This was when the kid ran up to his room!  There his mother confronted him about his behaviour but was meet with anger and resentment.  This was because the kid wanted to watch is movie.  As he closed the door he started to get angry again and smashed some stuff!  All the while his mother was on the other side of the door and was concerned about her son.  She could do nothing about this until the kid wanted to calm down.

The mother went to make dinner quietly and did not say a word!  Maybe she was too she was to harsh with him, asking him curtly about the situation!   Maybe this inflamed the whole situation at hand.......

The idea of  working was annoying for Johnny and tried to avoid the problem as she know that the kid needed to get something done within his life.  But maybe she should have asked gently about the job or at least got money involved.

But this kid was stubborn!

When the frustration and anger subsided the boy realized what he had did and wanted to apology!  The fact was that he saw some stuff smashed and some stuff thrown everywhere he realized in his mind that something  was not right with himself!  That was when he decided to apologize about his actions!

The mother heard every word that the kid had to say and together the walked up to the old man's front door and the kid apologized.  Luckily for  Johnny the old man did not have to go to hospital for his fall!  But this could have gone side ways really fast.

"Mr. Lawerence," the mother said.  "My son has something to say about his actions!"

The old man's face hardened then softened again and for give the kid.  But the kid was looking down the whole time at his shoes!

"I am sorry!" Johnny said still looking at his shoes!   But as heard the old man be forgiving that was a game changer for the kid!  One was a game changer!  The old man decided to be forgiving and kind to the disturbed kid.    Maybe the kid will learn something.

But the kid was starting to cry and started talking an about his father who had passed away earlier this year!  That is disturbed the kid still as he was not able to cope with this!  At that point  the kid was told by Lawerence that he would take the kid under his wing!  Like a father.  But that just made the kid cry harder about the fact that his father was no longer with him!

"We can do the fence together!"   He suggested.  "It will be fun!"

The kid agreeded to this that it will be fun to do and that he could watch the movie after the work was done!  It was the promise of the movie after wards that helped the kid get over his anger!  But this will lead to a sleepless night for sure.   The kid did some soul searching for once in his life and decided to help with the fence if only he could watch the monster movies that him and his father were able to watch before.

So if I help with the fence and be calm I can watch Godzilla all I want with that logic the next day the kid woke up to a do right sunny day! And breakfast made for him.   Then after he was done breakfast only then he was able to help with the fence!  As he got help from the old man the child was able to finish the fence with not a single problem!  After the fence was made and painted, the kid was given money  for the video store.  There he was able to rent all the monster movies he wanted and have the popcorn he wanted to as well!  That was the best thing for the kid. As the  old man grew older he would need help with other things around the house but the kid did not give him guff or disrespect!  Instead the kid swallowed the anger and went to do the job!  After ear that he was able to work through his emotions and get more done!

Soon the kid would have a summer business to work on peoples fences for a cool five and then world take the proceeds to the video store!  That being said the mothman, Godzilla and Sasquatch looked really beautiful compared to being in his room angry and annoyed for the  summer!  That was when the kid realized that he didn't need to respond with anger every time that his father was in his mind or if he had to do a job!   Although the kid was able to swallow his pride and anger he was able to find a father figure in Mr Lawerence soon enough!

As for the kids anger.....if he was angry he went to the video store to get his favourite move instead of losing it over a small or stupid thing.  Life is too short  to be angry  all the time, it just isn't worth it.

That being said ...... "anger and hate are just baggage and that life is too short for to be that way!  It just isn't worth it man!" Said an angry kid in one of Johnny's movies he rented!

And that is basically it.  Life is too short to be angry all the time....you might miss out on good things!    It is good to be honest with your emotions and it's another to carry debilitating angry over the smallest thing.
