instant information and how it has affected me

i was washing my face when i had the question "is literature art or is art literature?" pop into my head so i reached for my phone but my battery was dead and i couldnt search it up on the spot

had to wait until i finished washing my face, plugged my charger in, and had my phone finish booting up to finally search it up and learn that literature is art

if i didnt have this little block of electrical systems and stuff, i wouldve had to wait until i got to a library or saw a literature prof/teacher/researcher/etc. which could've taken days if not weeks

that way, id get extremely invested and would be dying to know it by the time i did, which wouldve made it a much more significant piece of information for me than it ended up being now

and maybe that way, id be much more interested at researching stuff

looking through books, trying to find people with knowledge, basically hunting for information is a lot more fun and rewarding than just having it immediately accessible.

kinda like how you dont feel the need to learn how to brew coffee when you have a cafe nextdoor, maybe this is why learning seems a lot less interesting recently🤷‍♀️

i actually forgot about the fact that i can easily search things and i keep asking my parents, so when they dont know the answer i remember that we have google
learning should be interesting back in the days, now i just tap tap tap in the phone and get a short response, thats kinda boring
