how did people become so dependant on tiktok

remember how in 2018 everyone made fun of those with tiktok because it was a cringy lip syncing app for kids? now for some reason everyone seems to be DEPENDANT OF THAT STUPID APP AND I DONT GET IT?? i get that things change over time but it is still as cringy as it once was, just that its gotten worse with its now huge platform. we dont wanna mention the insane shit people have done or posted on there just for a few internet points but we all know abt it and i dont have to complain abt it, enough people have already done so

a friend of mine is one of those people who use it frequently for hours on end, and that guy just loves to send me videos of guys complaning about women because they might've said "that man is stupid and a lot of men are alike" literally why do you care so much?? and why do you expect ME to care?? its a video with an opinion, its not like shes attacking you personally. or are you also stupid? do you feel attacked because youre stupid? i should ask him that

i havent used it since  2021 and ill never plan to in the future. same goes to instagram reels whatever that liveleak bullshit is that they got going on there. superb! i got better things to do than scroll mindlessly on an app the whole day
