heyyy im bored so im gonna yap :)
i dont know if im stupid and this is a really dumb interpretation but just hear me out
okay so my fav scene in arcane is the ending of season 1
i like it because i feel like it shows a lot of things and i am NOT a genius so i probably misinterpreted some stuff but who cares
i think its super interesting the slight sad expression on jinx’s face when she goes to shoot the gun. it looks less like shes willing and more like she forcing herself to shoot. maybe its because of the loss of silco, or the need to sit in the “jinx” chair but it seems like shes forcing herself into a “jinx” box. less like she’s purely jinx and more like shes acting as jinx, but powders still in there. she shoots the gun because that’s something jinx would do, but does she want to shoot the gun or does she want to be jinx?
its like “jinx” and “powder” are two different identities and jinx refuses to accept that she could be both. like she could still have powder in her. and i think she justifies that by doing actions that “jinx” would do. obviously shes not only doing these things for the sole purpose of being jinx, she IS jinx and many of these things may just be impulsive actions but i still think the identities coming along with the names is an interesting idea.
also the pure grief on caitlyn’s face is perfect. she’s basically watching her mom die knowing there’s nothing she can do about it. worst of all is that she COULD have done something had she shot jinx earlier but she didnt, and now she’s forced to watch the death of her mother without getting to warn her or say goodbye and im sure that she was blaming herself
not only that but the shock on vi’s face when she starts to believe that powder is truly gone, since jinx did something that was so wrong that only “jinx” could do it. thats what convinced vi that there was nothing left of powder because powder wouldn’t do that. it was obviously deeply saddening to watch your sister do something you would have never thought she would do, right after you might have had the opportunity to stop it. i can also see vi blaming herself
overall i think the representation of every characters grief was amazingly set out, as well as the tension occurring as the scene happens.
ok thats it byeeee
