I try not to fall into a "kids/the culture these days" mindset for lots of reasons. One, I'm only twenty-one and realistically haven't seen much of the world. Two, idolizing the way things used to be is a slippery slope down into damnation. And three, it's not very cool. You seem like a poser when you complain about popular things, sorry haters of the world, that's the crumbling of the cookie.
Having said all that, the term "gooner" is perhaps my least favorite thing to come of tiktok recently. It just annoys me, I don't like the sound of the word and I don't appreciate how many children seen so eager to define themselves by that word publicly on the internet. It seems inappropriate. But! That could also be internalized condescension. Chime off in the comments if you agree or think I'm a pretentious prick

the word gooner has really put a damper on the whole goon community, i'm just tryna make my way through life putting up with big tony's baloney and people mistake me for porn addicts! us goons are just tryna make an 'honest" living out here doing some casual moonshining that neva done hurt no nobody and then them start rearing their ugly heads at us, unbelievable!
haha!! so unfair the reputation these guys are giving you, you're honest hardworking people! good luck on the unionizing efforts!

I don’t see a lot of this stuff, but I saw a SpaceHey account and they had „Gooner“ in their description and I was fulfilled with embarrassment and cringeness like wtf?
haha a similar account is actually what inspired this post! i dont know if its a great thing to advertise on any social media, esp one where theres a lot of adults...
