Addressing All Danny Phantom Ships (Part 1: Danny x _____)

Yes, even the outright disgusting ones. 

Any show with a fanbase, especially a fanbase as large as the Phandom, is bound to have shippers. Whether you ship the protagonist with their best friend, or maybe their enemy, there's always a ship for everyone that people spend their lives defending. However, Danny Phantom is one of the most controversial topics when it comes to ships, especially with the main guy himself. Mingling with not one, not two, but three girls at different times throughout the show has given fans different opinions on who he really should've ended up with. Today I'm addressing all of the ships between characters on the show Danny Phantom, and how I feel about them. 

Danny x Sam

Of course, starting with the canon ship of Danny and Sam, I believe this one takes the cake for me. Call me basic, I couldn't care less. Danny and Sam's relationship plot throughout the show is a really nice one, and I love the realism of it. Sam being so sure of her crush on Danny, and Danny (even from season 1!) thinking there might be something there, but is unsure. I can relate to this a lot. He feels something is there, but doesn't know if he feels the same. Until the end, of course, when he figures it out and they end up getting together. This ship is so strong that even his parents shipped it, going as far as engraving a class ring with Sam's name. Unfortunately, a lot of Sam haters (why???) will diss on this ship, saying Danny could've done better. Personally, I think they make a great couple. 

Danny x Valerie 

This one almost tied for first. I absolutely loved seeing their relationship build in the episode "Flirting With Disaster", and was crushed when it came to an end. The character development of Valerie, first of all, is truly amazing. Starting off as an enemy to both Danny Fenton and Phantom, and then proceeding to become closer to Fenton while still fighting Phantom. She used to be a jerk, but slowly began working out who her friends were and who they weren't. Back to the ship, I think it's really neat how invested they were in each other. They talked and cared about each others interests. They did all those cheesy couple things, like the thing with the ferris wheel. They both really loved each other, and it was such a shame that because Valerie was afraid to hurt Danny with her ghost hunting, she believed she couldn't go on with him. Personally, I think they would've made a wonderful couple if they had continued with their loving. 

Danny x Dash

When I was younger, I used to love this ship. Now? Not so much. It's still nice, don't get me wrong, there's nothing morally wrong about it. But it's still a bit weird and out of character. I believe if done right, it can be nice (for example, written smoothly in a fic), but going off of the main media alone and it's just kinda weird. It is kind of fun to theorize that maybe, just maybe, Dash has a crush on the ghost kid, but I can't ever see an entire relationship sprouting from it. It's nice to dream though, no hate to anyone who ships this. 

Danny x Paulina

Considering Paulina would only date Danny if she knew he was the ghost boy, I don't think this would be a very healthy relationship. Yes, Paulina is the hottest girl in school, but that doesn't mean she's also a good person. Hey, if you see something between them, don't let me stop you from dreaming. But let me just say, you won't get far... Not with how she feels about him.

Danny x Ember

Meh. It's meh. Honestly, I didn't see anything between them. I mean, she brainwashed him with music and tried taking over the world twice. Not to mention stealing his parents. But similar to the Dash one, if you can make it work then go ahead. It's not necissarily problematic, but I'm not a huge fan. 

Danny x Vlad

I felt physically disgusted typing that. This ship is the ABSOLUTE WORST of them all. Not only is Vlad in his 40's, but he's also considered an uncle to Danny on multiple occasions. I've sadly met two people who have shipped this. I ran away immediately. The AMOUNT of people who think this is okay is sad. I cannot search on google either of the characters without finding SHIP ART within the first few scrolls. It's terrible. It's terrifying. If you still don't see what's wrong with it, allow me to clarify: 14 year old boy, 40 year old man. See the bad? Want me to spell it out for you? That is a TWENTY-SIX YEAR AGE DIFFERENCE. 26. TWO SIX. For scale, that's just over a quarter of 100. Please, if you ship this, get some help. 

Danny x any family member

HURL AGAIN. The same as the last one, this is disgusting. Please get help. 

BONUS! Danny x ...himself?

Also known as a pitch-pearl, this ship is Danny's ghost half and human half being shipped. I also used to like this ship, however it feels a bit weird. Remember the episode where Danny splits himself into two (Identity Crisis)? It's essentially those two. Those two are being shipped together. I think that if they were separate people, it'd be a cool ship considering the contrasts (one is a bit of a slob while the other is very heroic). However, due to the fact they are two parts of the same person, it's kinda weird. If you ship this, I can't see a reason to stop you, but just know that other people might think you're weird. Personally, I could care less. 

I'm pretty sure that's all the ships I've heard about, for Danny anyways. I'm not proofreading this, so my bad if there are any errors or repeated points. These are all just my opinions, and it's okay for you to have different opinions that this. EXCEPT for the Vlad and family members one. If you ship this or are fine with people shipping this, you should probably be on some kind of watch list. Anyways, goodbye now. I need to sleep, thought I don't think I will.
