Screw Windows (For Real This Time) (Entry 19 - 03/03/2025)

Two days ago I decided, after getting some more practice with the installation, to just go for it and switch my main PC from Windows 10 to Arch Linux! :) And to be honest, I'm satisfied with my decision! It's been more fun than frustrating learning how to get everything up and running on the different OS, and I'm glad I just went through with it.

I read up on the differences between SteamOS and Arch with KDE Plasma, and SteamOS is really just a more restrictive version of it. By that, I mean you can't destroy the OS near as much, but you also have restrictions on installing applications and what-not the way you'd like to. At the end of the day, SteamOS will still probably be the better option for users migrating from Windows, but having messed around with it for a bit, I think I'm happy with the set-up. There are still challenges to overcome with some incompatible software and just figuring out how to make other software work, but I'm up for it :)

On another side note, we had a pretty sweet one-shot D&D session yesterday! I made a Loxodon Monk (basically a big elephant dude who is a monk) named Serj and I've had a lot of fun with the character. Monks have been the class punching bag of D&D for a while for a couple reasons, but I just love the idea and character possibilities that come with it. I think with that information, it's also relevant to mention that Serj has totally been kicking some goblin ass >:D

My father's running the Sunless Citadel for that one-shot, and I'm looking forward to seeing some more of it. Wish me luck (with the campaign and with Arch, lol)!
