The girl from the swimming pool

I have always had a problem in my back that causes it to be a bit misplaced. Because of that, I need to go swimming often to not feel pain. One day, with 13 years, I went to swim to a new swimming pool. Then, sat in a bench there was a girl. Her hair was short and curly, and her face was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in this world. I sat there, next to her. I didnt say a word as I used to be very introverted, but she talked to me. We started talking a bit before the swimming classes began. She asked my name and I did that too. Talking with her was very fun and really made me feel special.

I continued to keep talking to her every day I went to the pool. We talked about the kind of stuff a 13 years old would talk about, but it was nice. I told her my problems with my friends and my life in general, but she didnt wait to talk, she really listened to me. Not like that kind of conversations where the other person is talking a lot and then ignores what you say to keep talking, but she was listening to what I wanted to say. That was something I never experienced before.

Days kept passing, and the summer was going to fill the streets. The swimming classes were about to end, but I had no way to talk to her out of the pool. That made me enjoy the most the last day I spend with her. Then we say goodbye, and our faces wouldnt meet again.

Summer passed by, and each day I realised how I loved more and more that girl, because she was literally the kind of girl I dreamed about. But I didnt really know anything about her: where she lived, what school she attended or either if she was in my town in the summer. Not only the summer, but time kept passing and I couldnt see her again. I even waited in front of two or three schools at the time classes ended to see if she was there, but nothing.

I started loosing hope, but that didnt mean I didnt think about her.

Let's go two years aften meeting her, in fourth grade of secondary school. A random day, after eating a kebab, I was walking down to the school when someone suddenly stopped me. It was her. She somehow recognised me! She remembered who I was after two god damn years! She was walking with her friends, but she told them to keep walking because she wanted to talk with me. Dude, no one has ever donde something like that to me, so it meant a lot. She told me that her school was literally in front of mine (I didnt look at that school when I was searching for her). She went out at 3 pm, so every day I waited for her at that hour. Every day I could, I was there at 3 pm to wave at her and exchange some words.

I could see her again after all that time! We kept talking again, every day a bit until summer came, when she gave me her Instagram to talk. There, she told me that she was moving to my school next year. I was so excited about that, like, the girl of my dreams could go to the same class as me!

I kept almost all the summer thinking about that, looking forward the day we could formally meet. When the day arrived, I couldnt talk with all the emotion I had. We were in fact in the same class, so I could talk even more with her (or thats what I thought).

Appart from school, I always waited for her at the ending of the classes to accompay her the way home, taking advantage of the opportunity to talk about stuff together.

But something changed.

At first, she was happy to see me again, and we happily talked about school, but each day it passed, she talked to me more and more weirdly, as if she didnt want to talk to me at all. I didnt think so much about that, but it kept happening more and more often, more and more intensely. Her face of disgustement sometimes made me want to leave, because she really showed that she didnt want to talk. But I thought it was because I was a bit superficial, not talking about deep stuff with her, so I tried.

No results.

Then I had my biggest idea yet: telling her to meet on the weekend, like friends do. I remember that day, the last day before christmas vacations. That day, I tried my best to have a good conversations with her, and right before ending the way, I would ask her to meet. But, that day, she barely talked, and she was looking in other ways rather than my face. I really tried to make her talk a bit but didnt worked. Then the moment came, and I said something before asking her to meet. But her face told me everything. A face of disgust looking at me, clearly telling me that she didnt want to know anything about me.

So I didnt ask her out.

After that, I haven't speak with her again, not a single word. I really loved her, but she doesnt think the same about me. She thinks I'm disgusting. And I wont go out with someone who doesn't like me.

Three months have passed, and I still think about her a little, but the wound is healing. I don't love her anymore, because she hurted me. I still dont know why she suddenly changed for no reason. Maybe it all was an obsession. Maybe she wasn't that good, although I still think she was. Maybe it's my fault for loving someone. Maybe I won't love again. Maybe.
