Drop Dead Feratu (Entry 18 - 02/24/2025)

Made my girlfriend watch one of the classics - Drop Dead Fred. If you don't know what it is, it's a 1991 comedy classic starring Phoebe Cates and my GOAT Rik Mayall (rest in peace). If you already knew what it is, I have respect for you :-) Anyway, she fortunately digged the movie! It's one of those movies I had on DVD growing up and I hadn't seen it in a while so I'm glad to see it still holds up. And almost directly after Drop Dead Fred we pivoted to the new Nosferatu film.

Ever since watching The Lighthouse I've been a pretty decent Robert Eggers fan, and it's sweet to see he's still directing some damn good movies. Not too long ago I also watched The Northman with my girl and we enjoyed it, so she was delighted to show me the newest installment in Eggers' filmography. Plus, a bonus to liking Robert Eggers films is that since The Lighthouse, you're probably guaranteed to see Willem Dafoe (love him to death). Next time we get the chance to sit down and watch some movies, I'm totally showing her The Big Lebowski and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

On a completely different note, you may have noticed something a little different about the website if you've been here before! The new update was in the works for the last couple days, and I'm happy with how it turned out (for the most part). A downside to switching to units like vw after having used px since the website's inception is that it might make the website look messed up at less common aspect ratios. Even resizing the window can make it look pretty weird. If I hear it kind of messes up the website for some folks, I might switch back. But in any case, I'm pretty happy with how it is now!
