I HATE 'Goth' OnlyFans Models (Rant)

Preface:

I really wanted to write about this because it pisses me off SO IMMENSELY. Before I get into the 'goth' stuff, I'd like to say that the porn industry as a whole is disgusting. Profiting off of getting (mostly) men addicted to sexual content that promotes vile/illegal fantasies relating to incest, child abuse (such as 'barely legal', 'teen', or 'schoolgirl/boy' categories), rape, assault, and queer (specifically lesbian) relationships* is disgusting. Porn has been overly sexualizing these things in an effort to appeal to its male audience, and more recently, has taken 'inspiration' from subcultures. 

*Lesbian/etc porn is often formatted in a way to appeal to men, such as with three+somes (1 guy, X girls), they are almost always completely hairless, and really dramatic (eg, moaning super loud). I am not against queer relationships or people in any way, but I am against sexualizing them (hope that makes sense!). 

'Goth' OnlyFans Models

You encounter them the most on Instagram. Maybe it's a 'funny goth meme', or 'funny stereotype', or just straight up them bouncing their ass in fishnets or something, but no matter what, they're in revealing black clothing with some eyeliner. Listen if you're actually goth and you have your ass out I don't care. But when it comes to these girls that ONLY post content that is clearly meant to arouse the viewer (especially if the caption says like 'link in bio'), you know somethings up. And then you go to their account and theres a linktree that leads to their onlyfans. 

My issue

Just like the porn industry, these girls make money off of men's fantasies. Except this time, the fantasy is the goth subculture. This is a serious issue when it comes to people that are actually goth; because of these women/industries, men have 'learned' that goths are just a porn category, something to jerk off to, something to sexualize. It is why goths get harassed and assaulted more and more just for being themselves. And as a result, goths may stop dressing/participating in a certain way out of fear, and these subcultures just become a sexy 'aesthetic' to the masses. 

...Is Goth Dead?

I'm gonna be so real the definition of what subcultures are, especially goth, have been so watered down to the point that they barely exist anymore. When you think about it, only a small handful of goth bands ever became mainstream, and all it is to people nowadays is an Amazon/Shein category (oversaid, but its so true). If you're goth and you also go outside and talk to people, you'll realize that many people only dress the part, and to them that's all it is. Even Metal is way more mainstream than goth is. The bands are way more popular and the shows way more common. It really feels like true goth* is dying. 

*I'm not saying this to be an elitist or anything it's just straight up true, the bar is on the floor, I would be SO happy if a goth at the mall told me their fav band was The Cure and not fucking Slipknot because AT LEAST ITS AN ACTUAL GOTH BAND

TLDR: Gothic OnlyFans models are continuing to ruin the definition of the subculture by narrowing it down to a porn category, and not a community rich in music, history, politics, gloominess, fashion, and acceptance.
