Hello! Late again but whatever. Anyways, February was fun! I went outside a lot more :)
On the 15th I went on a scouts trip! It's out usual winter trip. It was a short one, but I like hiking in the winter- the fields are full with winter flowers- especially windflowers! We hiked from Kaukab Abu Al-hija to Tel Yodfat national park. The actual ancient city of Yodfat sits atop a hill in the park, it's a really cool second temple era ruin. Paid my respects at the mass grave there too (from roman siege of Yodfat). The carved stone is really damn cool too.
On the 20th my dad celebrated his 49th birthday! We went to Yad Lashiryon, which is an artillery brigade museum and memorial. My dad really liked military stuff, as evident by us constantly going to any military museum there is anytime we're abroad and pretty much on every single one of his birthdays... Like in 2022 we were in Finland and we went to an aviation museum there near the Helsinki Airport. No joke, we spent there like 4 hours lol. Either way, Yad Lashiryon is really cool!! Fun fact- it has the biggest collection of tanks in the world!! We spent there 4 hours and it still didn't really feel like enough- I did climb the Merkavas so that was great. I loved the Merkava wooden prototype and the South Lebanon Army tanks and AFVs- Ever since learning about Lebanon's Maronites a bit more I've been fascinated with them and their feats- and I've been also taking interest in military stuff so it was like hitting two birds with one stone. And seeing authentic East German and USSR tanks?!?!? wow!! It's right near the Latrun Monastery as well so we visited it too- it's gorgeous and elegant. They have REALLY good wine and chamomile liquor (don't drink but did taste test it for my parents who didn't want to drink before a 4 hour ride back home). Though I personally liked the ceramics the most. So if you're visiting Israel and are around Jerusalem I absolutely do recommend visiting both- It's a 30 min ride from Jerusalem by both car and public transport. Do come early though- the museum's open until 4:30pm and the monastery's open for visitors until 5:30pm. And if you don't know about tanks and don't have a military nerd with you, don't worry- you can ask for a guide. They're free and you'll be instructed by an actual artillery corps soldier there.
Honestly writing that made me want to start a touring blog. Or a virtual guide youtube channel. Would be cool! But I'm way too awkward. Anyways, Vsynths!
...This is probably the first time in a while there isn't anything new.
Well, that's it folks! I'll be back at the end of March.
