i don't get why people around me consider being emo weird.

My sister, who knows that im 'emo' not entirely emo but im into alternative. but she's too degenerate to know the difference. I honestly find it so annoying that everytime we go out she's just like "don't wear anything emo, you look crazy/weird." how though? or am i just used to alternative... the only problem I have being alt is the thought of being perceived as a poser.
