BLOGGING?(ranting about tgswiiwagaa lol)(s0und syst3mz)

Hi! :D It's been a little while since I've posted anything here.

Lately I've been really passionate about music, whether it comes to playing it or listening to it, I've been enjoying it all! So I just now had the idea(literally minutes ago lol) to blog about it!! I hope to find more people that love it as much as I do(and I know for a fact that some of you guys have the same taste, so this shouldn't be too bad). Here, I'll talk about any new artists or favorite ones I've already discovered. This might a little messy, but it'll be fun.

Should I use this as my first entry? Lately I've been reading the manga "The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't A Guy At All" by Sumiko Arai. It's about this girl(Aya Oosawa) that develops a crush on the clerk of a local CD shop, and the clerk turns out to actually be a girl from her class(Mitsuki Koga). As the story progresses, Aya and Mitsuki form a strong bond with each other, and their interests in their favorite music makes it grow a lot stronger. It's a really good story. It's still ongoing(and I don't wanna spoil too much if you wanna read), if you love music and comics/manga, I HIGHLY recommend!

This comic partially inspired me to write this, because I completely relate to everyone in the story lol. It kind of has a 'slice of life' element to it, and it feels very down to earth and comfortable. I feel like on top of watching these two girls grow closer, I'm generally seeing a group of people vibing with each other while they're going through high school together, and it's so fun. The musical element is like the cherry on top that elevates the entire thing, it's awesome!

Throughout the chapters, Mitsuki and Aya share their favorite artists with each other. I noticed these two mainly have taste in 90s/grunge rock music in general. I got excited while reading, because throughout the time I was in high school, I listened to a lot of grunge/riot grrrl music. Most of my taste in rock music now is centered in 90s grunge/2000s post-grunge, so seeing them mention a lot of the artists that I discovered while I was in middle/high school got me so hyped! It also made me more curious about the author, because she has immaculate taste lol.

Speaking of the author, I read an interview she did about the series. She talked about her own experience with how she discovered her favorite music. She told a story of how she thought of music as something to enjoy alone, until she reached high school and started to bond with other people over it. It was so interesting to learn about how she brought the characters to life, and how it related to her own journey. It was ultimately inspiring to me because as a music lover and also an artist that loves to write as well, this whole thing hit so close to home for me.

Long story short, I ended up relating to a lot from this series, and it made it such a fun read.
