Welcome! Did you get banned off Pony Town? Did you just get tired of its player base? Are you just bored out of your mind? well, first of all!!
If you've been banned and you believe it was unfair/wish to get your account back, please appeal to the staff! Who knows? MAYBE they'll reply (very little chance of this happening, but you've got to have hope)
You can appeal by emailing " ponytownhelp@gmail.com " and explaining what's happened, if they have received the email, You'll get an automatic response explaining stuff to you and saying it's been received and will be replied to soon.
Back to avoiding the main server,
One of the two choices that I know of...
One; Another animal-themed social game...
Something like animal jam. You could play that, it's not similar but I believe it's all there is. I didn't have a PC when these were more popular (and basically when I would've loved these games) so I personally don't know any (Feel free to suggest games similar to Pony Town in the comments!!)
Two; Pony Town Custom Servers!
What are custom servers? These are servers made by players, with code and instructions provided by the Pony Town team. Although this code is dated back to 2019, many servers are still being updated nowadays, which gives some of them chances to be unique and its own game
Next, I'll list every custom server that's still active, with information on whether it is safe or not (provided by the Pony Town fandom wiki) and my opinion on them
Rainbow Town -
Trusted Server!
Very nice, cute looking map, not much to do, it's empty. Just standard 2019 i believe Pony Town with assets that have been changed (colors & stuff), some small changes to the map and one or two npc's
Ashes Town -

Based on fallout!!! I believe this is the very best custom server as it has very unique assets, a loyal playerbase, a custom map and lots of stuff! It is very roleplay based though, and I do not know the player's stance on fandom-players (aka Pony Town cosplayers, think of fnaf ponies, md ponies...etc...) plus it is agaisnt the rules to claim any area of the map as yours (which is good because many Pony Town players will be rude [most times they aren't even upset] just because you went on their fandom's area)
edit; They don't care, if they recognize your pony they might even crown you. Anyways, me & N got drunk in the Ashes Town bar

Straight to the point, it did not let me create an account, not because it has the Pony Town ban list or whatever, not because I did anything wrong, no. You can only create an account with Patreon and it checks if you have paid them and checks if you're a supporter, which I found very weird, why would someone pay for something if they haven't even created an account yet? I spent over 20 minutes multiple times waiting and it wouldn't let me access my account, I don't like the implications of the whole Patreon thing gave so I moved on.
Event Servers / Breezy Town -
Trusted Servers, obviously.
I believe these are owned by pony town so they're only active when there's events & stuff. They seem to share a banlist with the official ponytown server so Breezy Town just told me I was permanently suspended, I accepted it and moved on
Sleepy Town -

I think this is a test server or something...? I'm not sure, but I believe I have played this before because it is what I believe to be the car/shrink or grow Pony Town server. Nothing much to do other than to run around & socialize, still pretty good for what it is.

Regrown Town -

This is pretty good! One thing though, it's in russian only 😅 It seems as it is still frequently updated and worked on as there is a message that indicates there will be a hiatus as they're reworking a lot of stuff.
I saw some people playing that spoke english, so I don't know if the server has a set playerbase or if it's just people that - like me - just found out about this server. There seems to be a lot of interface customization and as opposed to Pony Town it is much more round/circular! it seems as if this was going to be roleplay driven too as there is a whole page that allows you to type a biography for your pony & much more, the map is pretty good and it seems as if they have made their own map assets and music. I recommend anyone to check it out (if you don't know Russian you're gonna need someone to translate stuff for you or for your browser to have a translation option)

I have not played this, and I won't. They're the reason why Custom Servers are not available to anyone anymore.
They tried monetizing a barely customized server and slandered ponytown, being very weird and immature, no comment on this one.

This is the custom server I played on until yesterday
The (Supposedly previous) lead of the project, Aka Hard Drive, is a, pedophile I suppose, and has messaged minors innapropiately.
He apparently stepped down from the project for a while and I hope he just gives the project to someone else.
It's a nice server, sometimes empty, sometimes has people, it's, after Ashes Town, the one with the most things to do as it has missions & stuff you can do apart from just socializing. Nice server, very unfortunate circumstances.
Some of the assets seem very,,, ugly and stuff at first but they're charming.
Those are all the servers you can still access, the others are not being hosted as their own websites or are just not available for many reasons.
Of course, you should still investigate on your own and do whatever you want, I'm sure there are many more alternatives to the game, these are just the ones I know about.

Edit (Saturday, march 8th) It seems as if Hard Drive (Fantasy Town's lead developer and owner) stopped paying for the server's domain + deleted their discord server, this is very sketchy and I don't condone any of it. I wish the best for his victims and I wish for him to stop acting in such a childish way

Thanks for warn people about Hard drive, he was very abusive guy who tooked also advantage of many people trust to make his custom server (Around 2021). And good that justice was made and his server finally shutdown after a google doc was released wirh screenshots of what he did.
all such custom servers none of them its safe because all them tends to be owned by weirdos with bad intentions, ( even main ponytown game has weirds on their mod and dev team anyway). Now immagine custom servers....
Best thing to do its never joining ponytown or even in such servers anyway because all them are playground for weirdos, predators and mean people and in a way a scam to get and steal your personal infos.
All them are a crap due who owns them, and such places should not even be considerated as games, all are boring and same thing over again and does not worth time and effort in developing them to end like every of them did anyway.
Yeah, they're pretty boring tbh and the owners or/and mods tend to be weirdos. Around the time when I got banned, someone was banned but the person that was a predator was unbanned for being a supporter
I now play from time to time with my boyfriend only (and I only play Ashes Town)
There's not much to do, I could roleplay but most of the people give me bad vibes
I'm glad everyone got justice in the Hard Drive situation and that he lost/deleted everything he had

Yes i had knowledge of all such sittuations because i played such games back in 2020/2021 when custom servers was released, and i can tell how bad such experiences was, even ashes town owners are also predarors (according with rumours that came out) and them does business with pony town dev team weirdos too (that explain all) , and ashes town owners was also responsible to threat and release ddos attacks against a russian custom server named (NewPegasus) in 2024, just because it was also based in fallout equestria theme and had even more potential in some things than ashes town, all such servers are owned by same type of guys who use same tactic to manipulate and scam everyone with a game behind with dark business pratices , also you should never use such games as daily chat (as many do) , because all your messages are stored on them and are saved in plain text logs format and owners of it has access to every message you type (even whisper messages and party ones), and such info can be even retained for years and are just deleted when them wants too, and them also can manipulate and shadowban, account merge and even locking specific ip adresses from join game and many more things. Them are abusive in short answer, even ashes town its not safe knowing owners released threats with pony town team to another independent custom server just because was inspired in fallout. Its ridiculous, i dont know why people still play or overvalue such crap games wich are illusive scam and playground for darkweb predators. Nobody who is serious still play them nowdays.
