Why online homeschooling is better than regular school

What exactly is an online homeschooling?

Where i live (in Poland, but i'm sure it's alike in many places) online homeschooling is a form of education when you study and pass exams at home. You do most of your work on your laptop or tablet. You don't have any regular classes eith teachers teachers (only extra-curricural if you sign up for them). This can be challenging for many students since not everyone can find motivation to study while not having any external pressure in the moment. Also studying by yourself can be hard especially if the subject is hard for you. But, as a person who attends this school for total of 1,5 year, i gotta say, that decision to switch to this type of education, was the best choise i've ever made.

Pros and cons:

Pros:

  • You are always well-rested - since you don't have any classes you can wake up and study whenever you want!
  • Flexible study schedule - Felling sick? Something came up? It's alright, you can always study later and you still will finish your work on time!
  • Improved mental health - No pressure from teachers, no rivalry amongst the students and the most important - no bullying - pure peace!
  • More time for your friends and hobbies - If you always find yourself having no time for things and people you love, in online school, this won't be a problem! Who knows? Maybe you will even start earning from your passions!
  • You learn to find internal motivation and you become more organized
  • You become more independent
  • In most of online schools the teachers are super nice and if you need help with anything you can sign up for a meeting with them and they will help you on the topic you don't understand/is hard for you
  • Learning how to spend time alone and still have a good time - more self love and higher self worth!
  • You can look and dress how you want to - no one (except for your parents unfortunately) can tell you that you can't look the way you want

Cons:

  • Limited contact with people your age since you don't see them at school everyday (!but it doeasnt mean you will be home alone for the rest of you life!)
  • Not everyone is able to find internal motivation for studying - no pressure from teachers

Overall it just depends on what type of person are you, if this type of education would be good for you but people can change under a lot of circumstances so i think this type of education is better for a lot of people!

I'm sorry, but as someone who was forced into online school from March 2020 - June 2021, I have come to HATE online school. Online school sucks and there's no convincing me that it doesn't. Although my mental health did improve during the summer 2020 (it's a long story), it then worsened once again during that fall. I was glad to be back on campus at the beginning of my sophomore year of high school in August 2021.

I also HATE how the college I'm currently attending still has online classes as a thing whilst still not offering many in person options in comparison nearly 5 years later, because I'd rather do all my classes in person, in an actual classroom building with my colleagues and professors there inside a real, physical location like in the good old days before this online class crap came to be.
