my friend [itchy] asked me to make this blog............, so yeah hope u enjoy
my thoughts on john lennon?? or just john lennon in general? i personally think he was a good musician, yeah, the beetles are great. but just because of this unfortunately doesnt make him a good person. he was very bad. stuff like attacking people, being a neglectful father and a serial philanderer (someone who often enters casual s3xual relationships with other women). im not a perfect person in myself, but it doesnt take a saint to know these acts are wrong.
1. attacking people and being a domestic abuser
throughout lennon's years of fame, it had been glossed over he wasnt the nicest of people. in a playboy magazine back in 1980 (literally a few days before death), he actually confessed "I used to be cruel to my woman ... any woman. I was a hitter. I couldn’t express myself and I hit. I fought men and I hit women." this just proves the fact. not just this, but it was recorded that he had previously violently attacked a friend for calling him gay.
2. being a serial philanderer and obsessive
lennon was known to cheat a lot, especially on his first wife [cynthia lennon, 1939-2015]. his most known, though, was yoko ono (1933- ongoing). this affair actually started during cynthia and lennons marriage, which is extremely ironic for someone who wrote a song 'all you need is love'. afterwards, lennon became extremely possessive over yoko, not letting her out of his sight and even making her accompany him to band practices and the toilet. its ok to love ur patner and to always be with them, but DEFINETLY not to this extent.
3. being neglectful
from birth, a child needs few things. food, clothing, and obviously, care. without it, the brain can even start to mis-develop. sadly, this did not happen to lennon and cynthia's child, julian lennon (1963- onwards) as john behaved abysmally towards him. yelling, ignoring, behaviour reported as 'aggressive' and violent' and even allegedly lashing out on julian for giggling, saying 'i hate the way you fvcking laugh'. fortunately, paul mccartney (1942-ongoing) felt great pity for julian, writing the song 'hey jude' for him (og title was 'hey jules'). years after, julian spoke out about this and said that paul was more of a father to him then his real dad.
now, just because of this, dont think i hate the beetles. infact, i love and admire their career, songs and just industry in general. they've certainly made an impact on the world because most people still know them today. on the contrary, some of these acts are extremely disgraceful, so maybe 'the beetles' and its members shoulfnt be considered the greatest band ever...
