Hidden Threshold

defined by what is taken - lost
by what was -what ought to be-
a hidden threshold standing plainly in view
and even within its absence
i drag its dead weight forward

you are capable of surviving
so much more than you can live through 
I put every piece back where it was
and realize a horrible truth
