Welcome to my blog ♡
My last 7 days were really eventful, and sadly took a really hard negative impact on my mental health.
It all started last Sunday. My fiancee and I took the train to the village where my shared apartment is so I could go vote for the German elections. I voted and we walked to my shared apartment to take care of my birds. A few days earlier we bought a camera that connects to an app (similar to a RING camera) so I could monitor my birds to be able to instantly see when something's wrong.
We put it up and left, took the train back and enjoyed the rest of the sunny day. In the evening, when it was already dark outside, we decided to look at the camera.
We saw that one of my "birds" was on the floor of the cage, eating out of one of the bowls. I was quite confused since birds can't see at night and since the camera has night vision, the vision was in grayscale. Well...
The "bird" turned to the side and it turned out that it wasn't a bird. It was a mouse. And then came a second one. IN the bird cage. I panicked. I cried. I had a panic attack. Mice where eating out of my birds bowl. My fiancee took some things and left, took the train to the place.
She found the whole, stuffed it and after 4 hours she returned to the train station. We called. She took another look at the camera. Mice. Climbing up the wall behind my bird cage. I panicked again. She went back, put the bird cage in the middle of the room.
A lot of horrible things happened in this house after Sunday. I told my roommate about the mice and the only thing she said was "oof". What the fuck?
Turns out that the mice where in the house for a few years now. Hundreds of them. They built a whole tunnel system through the walls. And nobody told me. The landlord doesn't care. So I organized a new place, I will move there on the 15th March. So only 2 weeks until my birds are safe and I will never have to go to the horrible place again.
As evidence, I took a TON of pictures. I have to throw out 90% of my furniture, all of my clothes and all of my plushies, even my mattress has to go. I am beyond pissed and I will sue the hell out of my roommates (for not telling me about the problem) and my landlord for letting people sleep, eat etc. in that house.
Eventful week I'd say. But me and my birds are safe soon.
