I decided to cancel my Spotify Premium subscription after realizing the platform has shifted from being music-focused to prioritizing podcasts, audiobooks, and videos. This made me question how much of my subscription actually supports the artists, and the answer is very little especially for those not backed by major labels. While companies need to adapt, I no longer want to support a system that treats music as a commodity instead of its core. This isn't an attack on streaming services but a reminder for consumers to think about where their money is going and who truly benefits. If you got any recommendation for a streaming service that actually supports artists please share :)
