Kotonoha no Hana ramble!!

WARNING: while this blog is fully SFW the media I'll be talking about today isn't!! So please keep this in mind before engaging with either the novel or the drama cd!!

Hi chattttt (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)/ today I want to ramble about Kotonoha no Hana's blcd because I finally FINALLY got around to listening to it in full after like... half a year??? of just listening to the karami scenes every day? Lol unfortunately I am a pervert and that has been stopping my from enjoying peak UNTIL TODAY!!!!!! (btw!! february 28th was the 17th anni of the first Drama CD!! I can't believe I missed it by a day (''– ⌓ –)＝３)

Also!! I just want to say this is gonna be 100% ramble about seiyuus and will barely talk about the actual story and characters at all because I am insane in the head ┐⁠(⁠‘⁠▽⁠`⁠;⁠)⁠┌

Summary:

After he suddenly began hearing the voices within people's hearts three years ago, Yomura has since become withdrawn and untrusting. One day, he inevitably hears the thoughts of Hasebe, a pure-hearted co-worker who has long harboured feelings for him. While feeling guilty at first about hearing Hasebe's inner-most thoughts, Yomura eventually grows fond of him, because Hasebe is very earnest with his love; the words he says and the "voice" in his heart are one and the same. But just when Yomura has heard Hasebe's confession and accepted his affections, Hasebe's reaction when he finds out that Yomura can hear people's thoughts is indeed unexpected...

Yapping!!:

Kotonoha no Hana is held in a very high regard amongst fujos and fudanshis everywhere and FOR GOOD REASON... not only is this such a sweet and cute story with good characters who are easy to get attached to and understand but also has an amazing cast that does an amazing job at conveying everything the characters are feeling and thinking...

OnoD specially stood out to me... I know I'm a hardcore fanboy so it goes without saying but I love his soft and kind voice in this Drama CD sososo much, Hasebe is kind of a cold and quiet character but OnoD manages to also convey his gentleness and warmness making him so much more likeable (and adorable!!) I love this kind of cool-yet-tended roles for OnoD so much I just can't get enough (⁠ > ᗜ⁠ < ⁠)!!!! Even when Hasebe gets angry and yells at Yomura you can still hear just how much he loves him and how gentle he's being despite being so hurt by him... OnoD the man that you are....

HiroC of course also does excellent job at conveying Yomura's insecurities, HE SOUNDS ESPECIALLY ADORABLE IN DISK 2 TRACK 7 WHILE CRYING AND FINALLY OPENING UP TO HASUBE UUUGGH I FEAR I MIGHT BE A DO-S BUT CRYING HIROC RATTLES MY BRAIN IN WAYS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND ｡⁠:ﾟ⁠(⁠ ⁠≧⁠Д⁠≦⁠)ﾟ⁠:⁠｡ I WANT TO DIE FOR HIM!!!!!!

Ahem... sorry about that... but seriously, both OnoD and HiroC put so much love into carefully portraying their characters as humanly possible and it's just so uwaaag I can't even find the words I'm just fanboying tf out here. In the free talk for Kotonoha no Sekai (a kind of spin-off/retelling of Kotonoha no Hana with different characters) OnoD talks about his role as Hasebe like this AND IT MAKES ME INSANE??? god he talks about it with so much love I ADORE THIS MAN SO MUCH....

Kotonoha no Hana has a couple more short extras. They're all very cute and sweet, I especially love Kotonoha Biyori!!!! It follows Hasebe and Yomura to their aquarium date and the night they share at a hotel (VERRRRY nice karami scene btw (⸝⸝˃ ་། ˂⸝）probs my fav in the whole series hehe). With 4 tracks it mostly focuses on Hasebe and I particularly adore his selfishness in the 3rd track UGH HE'S JUST TOO CUTE (>⌓<◍⁠)!!! and of course OnoD does a wonderful job AGAIN!!! I love this series sooo much as a Dear Boy it's genuinely such a treat... 

I'm still salty that OnoD and HiroC only have TWO!!! (2!!!!!) blcds where they're the main couple.... did their years long homoromantic friendship mean NOTHING to casting directors back when they were active in the bl scene??? Absolutely despairing... not to mention that in Reload OnoD is the uke, and well... I have my thoughts about that (⁠눈⁠‸⁠눈⁠) (besides the fact that I have yet to find a translation for it uwaghhhh when will I know peace...)

Anyways, I just need to listen to Kotonoha no Sekai to be done with the whole series!! I wasn't sure I was fully interested at first since I was already too attached to Hasebe and Yomura but as a Miki Shinichiro fanboy and Hirakawa Daisuke enjoyer I'm honestly a bit hyped!!! I really liked their dynamic in Sanbyakunen no Koi no Hate and think they make a good pair!! (and of course... background character OnoD x HiroC pairing hehe (-▽-) )
