I wish all schools graded things the way my Literature professor does. Everything is binary (you either turn it in or you don't), there are no points, you just have to make sure you turn it in.
At the end of the term, the teacher grades you based on how many things you turned in and on how much effort you put into the class based on your assignments and willingness to redo assignments. Say there are 25 assignments, you do all of them, you get an A. You do 20 assignments, you get a B. And yes, you do get rounded up to the next whole number (4 or more, raise the score), so for those who only did 16 out of 25 assignments, you get a C.
It's a great system because you have so much more room to focus on actually learning instead of having to cram for a test that might tank your grade!
