  • clean by alia trabucco zeran . . . this i read via audiobook, which i actually regret. i enjoyed the premise and the random details added in, but it kind of drove me crazy being in second person. i kind of loved the very end, and i am considering reading it physically at some point.
  • jillian by halle butler . . . i read this with frankie's bookclub and it was kind of a unanimous flop... the characters weren't really fleshed out enough for there to be any enjoyment; it was obvious they wanted you to hate them, but they were such flat characters it didn't work.
  • dear mothman by robin glow . . . another audiobook... this was okay. it's a middlegrade and written in prose that didn't translate well with whoever read the audiobook. it was a sweet story and good autistic AND trans representation imo. i probably wouldn't revisit this but i'd consider reading more from glow.
  • the room by jonas karlsson . . . god, this was fun. i honestly picked it up (audio) because the cover looks similar to severance, but it was worth it. i've started reading it physically just because i can't get over it. such a weird story and left to reader interpretation which i always enjoy.
  • open throat by henry hoke . . . ohhhhhhhhh my god. a mountain lion trying to stay innocent, trying to respect the humans that surround him only to realize he can't live that way... groundbreaking... to be fair i really love animal povs that are done well, but i honestly didn't expect this to be anything special.
current reads: the room by jonas karlsson and the queen's gambit by walter tevis

  • severance season two . . . holy shit. holy shit. recently, i saw a tweet saying movies can't surprise us or excite us anymore (quoting jurassic park video), and i was like... thats so untrue. i am constantly mesmerized by creative tv and movies, even being someone that doesn't watch a lot of new stuff. this show blows my mind every week, the cinematography, the camera angles, the acting... it's truly one you can't turn away from. bonus: my longest internet friend (10+ years, oh my god) got me into it so every week we're texting each other as we watch like we're 13 again.
  • yellowjackets season three . . . i don't know how i feel about the storyline of this season after 3.3, but i DO know i neeeeeeed shauna shipman, anger preferred! i'm also starting to love misty which i didn't see coming.

  • i started listening to kendrick lamar and now he's all i listen to. something about his voice and beats makes my autism go calm
  • also been listening to twenty one pilot's self titled and rab again... yeah mental health is bad.

i started the step by step sweater last month, and decided i'm frogging it after getting about 1/3 into the body... yeah, yeah... i started the salty days sweater instead because i do not need another sweater that's essentially the same as my favorite except raglan, especially when i don't like raglan fits... really wish that would've hit me like half a month ago. i finally finished the frog keychain i was supposed to finish for christmas... and i started crocheting leg warmers i simply do notttt want to work on. one more wip i haven't worked on is the simply hemmed hat but it'll be my now only stockinette project so it's a travel project!

as for my brain, i'm constantly shifting back and forth. i'm tired all the time, i miss group, i have no money, yadayada...
