just posting about my current hyperfix on older tech, don't call me a poser cuz my stuff isn't technically super super old okayy :p.
i've had a friend for yearss who loves to collect that stuff like i'm talking he has piles and piles of old phones, ipods, game consoles, computers etc. they're mostly for parts but my point is he got me so into this stuff especially after i told him i started collecting too. right now i have a phillips cd player from i believe the early 2000s? that i got for christmas :3 and an old iphone 5 that runs beautifully i was hard debating on making it my regular phone but i have things on my current phone (11) that i need </3. i also got an ipod touch (idk which gen) which i adore but it wont let me create a new apple id which is so buns :'(. right now i'm looking into getting a t mobile sidekick but they're sooooo fcking expensive same with an ipod nano. the ipod nano i get but a sidekick???? like no one uses them anymore. i also really want a cassette player but cassettes go for double the price on ebay then cds do so i'm sticking with my cd player.
anyway that's all i have to say today, bai XD

Oh yes, I've been collecting vintage computer stuffs for years and idk how true this is, but I feel that vintage computers have gotten more expensive to get into. At least if you're just going on listings by other people, especially eBay. I don't think i've ever bought a whole new system or whateves on ebay, prices are just to inflated. I go for FB Marketplace/Craigslist, ofc meetup in a safe place but it has decent prices, some gems, and no shipping.
But I feel prices have gone up because of the added interest to it, especially because like youtube/tiktok or what not. Idk, even some like FB listings I see pretty crazy prices. I think FB people see eBay prices and think they can sell it for that much, even though it's completely different.
Plus, especially when you get into really older systems, a lot of them will be broken and need some type of repair, if they can even be fixed. It's crazy. 2000s stuff is pretty decent for now but like it'll happen haha

randomly stubled upon this again and i just want to say that i live off a flip phone right now (sunbeam f1 horizon) and i used an iphone 4 downgraded to ios 6 for a while until the 3g shutdown. point being if you really want to use an old phone, and you can probably do most things you need on your laptop but it's less convenient
