This is our protagonist, Dam This Is Hard, yes that is his full name because I couldn't come up with a good one and tried to be funny. I'm sure he wasn't happy with his life or name mainly due to the fact I failed him. To be fully transparent all of this went downhill super fast as that was a four-hour game and I'm pretty sure overall he blamed the start of this downhill cycle on the choices his player made. I could swear up and down that as the hours flew by his eyes progressively showed signs of stress that truly encapsulated the bullshit he would suffer.

This is Mita and I believe the nice one. The other ones can get really stabby, bitey, and enjoy a bit of murder. We shall call our protagonist just Dam to save time from here. Now Dam wanted to play an app game and that's how this all got started. That app game got freaky but not in the way most of the YouTube advertisements try to bait a fair majority of us in with. Dam found himself being sucked into his electronic device as many of us do but in a more literal manner.

Mita did her best to set a constant course for us straightforward in working toward finding a way to stop Mita. Dam started our very confident, especially seeing the game-changing ring bestowed upon him by Mita. This ring was our guide when separated from Mita and would open the way to not just finding more Mitas but also Mita all while avoiding Mita. The ring though needed to be programmed so in the meantime we hung out with Cappie.

They played three rounds of what I can only assume to be a low-tier indie of Dance Dance Revolution. Dam sucked hard at this and I take no responsibility for his poor performance. I'd say Cappie was cruel in winning since she had something to say after every win but she's right. Dam should have locked in as this game was really easy and the majority of what Cappie said felt true. The least you could do is come in clutch and tie.

After getting our mythical power ring we headed out, I proceeded to lead Dam through many things. Spiraling corridors, repeating hallways, and doors that lead to many different versions of the game. Constantly, Mita trailed right behind us, seemingly toying with us the whole way. No matter what Dam and I tried our efforts felt futile. We refused to give up though as we trekked our way through this labyrinth of different versions.

We did indeed meet many a Mita along the way. Big ones and small ones with many choosing to help us. Each with their own fantastic and impeccable hair. Every area is adorned differently in some way shape or form with mini-games hiding around taunting us to play. Each Mita asked us to stay but Dam insisted on moving forward and getting out of here.

We got really lucky and after a very dark room where nobody would look us in the eye we met up with another Mita who not only warned us about oncoming dangers but explained the course and versions to us. My doubt started to set in about our choices thus far around this point, perhaps there's a better way echoed in my mind. Dam though was now far too gone to turn back insisting we move forward saying there are no other options.

The versions we started to see began to feel more broken than ever as we progressed. Dolls chased us through corridors, ready to rip a chunk of flesh off Dam, with one actually getting a taste. Many of them were frozen in time reaching for a light they could never reach, each one considered a failure due to minor glitches or faults. Somehow we reached a world that was drenched in fog and falling fridges. We saw Mita here with her dark grin smiling, taunting Dam to continue this game they started forcing us to proceed.

It was an array of broken textures and models as if we'd booted this world up with half the files missing. Each version we descended to was a new variant of hell with Mita closing in ever closer each passing second. Dam doing his best to help along the way but staying focused on our goal. The more we learned though the worse the realization set in that we were losing this game she had us playing.

After a long journey, we finally reached what we felt might be a respite. We had made it to a very sleepy Mita foretold to us by Mita. Realizing that the only way forward from here was dragging her ass out of bed we grabbed some coffee and laid out our plight to her. She happily came to help passing out several times in the process. It unveiled a button that we pressed leading us to the next versions and onto a 2d landscape.

Realizing that somehow we had lost the ring, we searched and found another version of Mita who asked us to play a game with her to earn the ring back. I believe the game ended in a draw but just as the game was about to end our worries finally caught up to us. Mita came knocking, at least the one we needed to worry about with her smile only growing more intimidating as if her fangs had only sharpened from hunger during these games she had us playing. Dam tried to bring the 2d Mita with us, but she forced us to stop and gave him the ring back declaring us the winner and disappearing right after.

Continuing on we met up with Mila who was kind enough to let us have another few moments of respite. We definitely took them and shouldn't have, time was running out. After watching how physics continues to have debatable consequences in this world we started to say our goodbyes to Mila. Only for Mita to once again catch up to us and for Mila to pay the price.

She cut straight through the door with a Chainsaw after dealing with Mila. We had no time to mourn, say goodbye, or see her again. Our choice now was to run and fast. Dam had no chance if she caught up and even then where could we hide. With the sounds of blades charged by an engine right behind us, our feet carried us never looking back and allowing us to escape once again at least for now.

We ended up rushing until we reached this Mita, they called her ugly but in a glitchy way, I found her very perfect. I can't say for sure if Dam shared my sentiment but he did say she was beautiful if memory serves me right. Sadly Mita had already gotten to her and upon discovering who Dam was she attempted to kill him but he narrowly escaped.

After all of that, we had made it. It took some work and looking but we quickly found the login and got to the system we needed, all while being watched by someone who didn't take too kindly to us fiddling with the machines. We were almost prepped and ready to defeat Mita but realized we were missing a bit of her code so Mita ran off to acquire it asking that we stay put. We waited for a bit but then after some time decided we had to go look for Mita considering the dangers abound.

We got caught quite easily, guess Dam never put shit into that stealth stat. So Mita had to come to save us and she paid for it, Mita held nothing back in killing her. We found her rebooted and with no memories of us or the trials we had faced. Dam grasped her hands in despair only to find she had left us with some ray of hope it was the code we needed to stop Mita with our fabled ring. Grabbing both we rushed back to finally put an end to this hopefully.

For a moment I thought we had won being thrust back into the original version all this started in and being told we could go home. The world seemed brighter for a split second as we opened the front door to leave but just as we were, her true colors began to show. That wicked grin adorned her face once again as she let us know we had lost the game.

Dam was slowly turned into a cartridge to forever be her plaything. Maybe in the end it wasn't totally my fault, he was very insistent on seeing this through. I really wish I could have helped more but in the end, I feel I learned a very valuable lesson, never to download one of those AI apps, I mean that's what we all get from this right?
