Skyrim: Takumi III

Currently on the trail of the moth priest, sort of. The Dawnguard and Main Quest are supposed to be running simultaneously.

But since there hasn't really been much gameplay progress since the last time I did an update, here's something more robust instead. Oh, and I'm going to put it in a bulletin since these blogs aren't really that visible. Wall of text incoming!

Roleplay Goals: Become the noble champion who finally slays Alduin. Stop Harkon’s delusional plan to black out the sun. Wrestle with the idea of romancing and marrying Serana. Falling in love with her is all too easy; since she is a rape survivor though, it’s obvious why her trauma prevents her from being a spouse for the Dragonborn. Therefore, it’s ultimately immoral given the circumstances. And Henry is meant to be an upright, moral man. Plus, Serana has complicated feelings about being a wife and a potential mother. Lastly, lead a band of heroes in defense of Skyrim in the vein of Commander Shepard from Mass Effect: they may not all like each other at first, but by the time they finally defeat the eldritch beings threatening their existences, they’ll become a family.

In the spirit of Henry being the ultimate chivalric knight, I think it’s best if he doesn’t marry Serana. Right now, I’m not sure who his spouse will be. I’ll need to check the list of possible marriage candidates without the interference of mods. Somehow, it won’t be the same. Thanks to the mods I have set up, though, I think Ysolda (yet again) provides a strong choice. Since she’s not only a merchant, but a sorceress as well. I would nominate Liljia Fire-Blade but personally, I think it’s cuter if she and Erik the Slayer hook up. I’m not sure who else might make a good match for Henry; I’m having trouble thinking of sword fighter characters.

Hmm, maybe Illia from Darklight Tower if it is possible. Although it’s a goddamn shame that Idgrod the Younger isn’t a possible candidate either. Same for Frea of the Skaal Village. Hell, why can’t you marry Elisif? I know based on the way the game is coded, she’s still mourning Torygg. Thus, she’s considered off-limits by design. Still though, that’s an idiotic decision from a creative writing standpoint. Why wouldn’t she fall for the Dragonborn, and fall hard? Sure, she’s the widowed high queen, but she is still young and still capable of finding love again. Here comes this epic badass (either male or female) who becomes a sworn warrior in her service. How could she not be genuinely attracted to them?

Come to think of it, she’s the anti-Cersei from Game of Thrones. All Cersei ever wanted was to become high queen of Westeros. But she was also a conniving cunt unworthy of the Iron Throne. Elisif is shown to be kind, strong-willed, and most importantly, resolute in her duty to be the best protector she can for her people.
