Christianity Topic Rant #3: Following Jesus

Ik I kinda talked about this before but I think it's very easy to assume that Christians can't be persecuted  (not just physical) in America when not every Christian is actively following their faith cause there can be Christians out there condemning another Christian for doing/not doing something when if they just read their Bible, they would know they should be following what that person is doing.

Bible Verse:

Hosea 4:6

 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from serving as my priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your sons.

Like I don't think we should assume that everyone in the 60% percent actually knows enough to genuinely be considered a Christian /follower of Jesus outside of them being like "oh yeah I believe in Jesus" (This was me at some point)

For the people that believe in Jesus out there I really want you to ask yourselves what you think it means to be a Christian and actively search in the Bible to see whether you're on the right path of what Jesus would consider to be that because we all want to go to heaven and be with God

John 8:31-32

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, "You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Yes it's important to believe in Jesus and have faith in him, But it's also important to follow His commands as a follower of Jesus.

John 3:16-17

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life. (17) God sent His son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him

You can just believe in Jesus, but Satan and his demons just believe in Jesus too, so I ask of you to not just read the Bible when you to to church and ignore it for the rest of the week, but look at it as much as you can so you can strengthen your relationship with Him and repent when you need to and learn what it means to be a real Christian. 

Bible Verse: 

James 2:19

You believe there is one God. Good! But even the demons believe that too! And they shake with fear.

Ezekiel 18:30-32

Therefore, I will judge each of you, O people of Israel according to your actions, says the Sovereign Lord. Repent and turn from your sins. Don't let them destroy you! (31) Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. frothy should you die, O people of Israel? (32) I don't want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!
