The Room Behind The Yellow Door

The yellow door haunts my dreams,

But it's cheery coat is not what it seems,

It holds falsehood and dark secret,

Hiding a seedy underbelly beneath it,

And she is behind it there,

Tousling her long hair,

Batting her eye,

With impatient sigh,

Laughing and jeering,

As I am unwillingly nearing,

A mocking glare for me,

In the place no one will see,

Watching and waiting,

Standing and anticipating,

Hungrily just for me,

Hid behind lock and key,

Glittering eye with intent,

With cruel sickened glint,

Sharp teeth of the predator,

As helpless I am before her,

My greater size yet I shrink,

Before the woman leaning gainst the sink,

I tremble and she laughs,

As entwine our paths,

The place I cannot avoid her,

Solitary room devoid of other,

Heaven help me I weep,

And toss and turn in my sleep,

She is here with me,

Though in darkness I cannot see,

Relive the fateful day over and over,

The darkness that I did uncover,

Tremble and fear,

Afraid when she will again come near,

I pray for dreamless sleep,

As I silently weep,

While she is gleeful,

Deliver me from evil,

From the unnaturally bright tomb,

The unavoidable doom,

Protect me ever more,

From the room behind the yellow door.
