welcome to today ( rather yesterday )  i played this  - where i will once every lifetime talk about a game that everyone already played and give my input on it like my opinion is relevant. but i will anyways because i really liked the game and wanna rant about it for a little cause i'm tired of seeing others play i wanna try the games too

first thoughts

this is before I have any idea what the lore is

i had heard about ultrakill before though memes and images but i never really played the game, since i found a place to,, yarr, i can finally run it on my school's computer if it's light enough

just spent 7h straight playing ultrakill, my hands hurt but man do i love this game. it has the cool graphics and my favourite - explosions, i love when games let me go pyromaniacal on this.

 i really like the christian undertone of this too the depictions of hell are so cool, i love how each ring has stuff associated with them, specially the gluttony one being the insides of a beast

love this damn soundtrack so much also love how in some battles they deliver the most poetic, anger filled pieces of dialogue to drop one of the most beautiful soundtracks on us. love this so damn much. like there's no need for this organ on the background to be so cool

but i love gabriel so much, he was tough to fight but he's so damn cool and egocentric to a level. someone get me merch of this, like his body pillow on my birthday or the official game on steam cause,,, yeah.

there was a part with mannequins and for those that don't know i f*cking hate mannequins, so when i saw them i genuinely just picked the most explosive thing i got and boomed the place. love the first few levels and can see myself replaying them trying to achieve that P rank and finding the secrets

definitely wanna do stickers of this, adding this to my interests list

personal rating

story

pretty much a  8/10  for me, i say 8 cause the story past act III feels like it lost the vibe it was going for on act I, it's still a pretty good theme going on, plus i haven't finished the game so i might be goofing it but once you begin act III it has a different vibe, its not that platformer with killing. it reminds me of another game that is psychological horror, which is what it feels like its trying to achieve. but ultrakill is perfect action, i don't agree with the attempts at horror. you go from killing demon-ish creature cause you're in hell to killing mannequins and war robots

gameplay

it's pretty well paced so i'd say   9/10  , it can get a bit tricky down the line due to some regular enemies not being quick to kill making you spend longer on areas which can mess up the pacing a bit. but if you have good aim (which i don't) and cycle through weapons you might get a good pace

graphics

pretty dope   10/10  fits the whole unholy and mechanic vibe its going for, its mechanic but at the same time gorey. the graphics are a similar style to iron lung to which you can actually adjust the texture warping and jitter. but its pretty cool, i love it

soundtrack

  10/10 . just listen to the music on the background of this, this is part of the game. it's this metal that fits the gore and the machive vibe so well with that church undertone. banger for any playlist

controls

  7/10  lots of buttons you have to remeber to which i personally still mess up, your hand might start to cramp or hurt due to you having to manage wasd + f + shift + ctrl + q + e + both mouse buttons, which is a bit annoying if you're not used to fumbling with buttons on your keyboard, which i'm not, making me make multiple misclicks.

characters

both the enemies and main character are a   10/10  , they're really cool unique designs. they're ugly, they're 'gorey' but they're so cool. i really like the general main character that showed up so far and all the enemies certainly looked like enemies

weight

i'd say it's pretty  lightweight  i am using my school's pc which isn't much for games nor work, but it ran smoothly without removing anything from the graphics, so yeah, i think this can porbably run in your computer. but please always check if its possible

worth it?

in my humble opinion   yes  , i hate to acquire games that you can only play for a couple of hours without much to experience and have crazy prices, but from what i experienced this game has a lot to offer. you have the regular gameplay with mutiple different dificulties and 6 chapters i believe (?), there's and endless mode, there's secrets to find, challanges to complete on each level and a perfection rating you can achieve per level. so yeah lots of entertainement to get from this

price

on steam it's  23.99 €  but of course always check for your country, they often do 25% promotions given the history where you can get it at  12.59 €  so be smart and buy it with a good deal, since sometimes they do 30%
