ppl at my new school

people at my new school are so... blehhhh. x_x

some time ago i told people at my school i was an atheist and i didn't believe in a god, and instead of reacting like normal people they literally pretended to faint and die in front of me. and after i told them this a lot of them avoid me/are starting to question why i transferred and they've spread the word about me being an atheist.

personally i am willing to adhere to and respect the Christian values the school upholds, but i don't see why people should isolate me or shun me because i'm an atheist. 

i don't know why people would react this way. maybe it's just because they're not used to me being an atheist, but personally as an atheist i would also hang out with kids of other religions and NOT SHUN THEM/react to them with OVERDRAMATICNESS when they say they believe in a certain religion. 

and also let me say that i think some of the girls at my school are homophobic in the name of religion, which feels very wrong... because the church leaders at my last youth group were all Christians, and they would support the teens of my youth group when they came out to them and guide them through the process of coming out.

why be homophobic when you can just accept people? why must people hide who they are for the sake of acceptance? we were all taught to "be ourselves" in elementary/pre-k/kindergarten, so why are we being shunned for practicing things that we were taught in our childhood that are NOT HARMFUL/DISTURBING TO ANYONE? (i'm not saying all lgbtq+ people are always right, we fvck up too, but everyone fvcks up and fvcking up is normal. and most lgbtq+ people i've met are very chill and don't really harm others)

sorry for the long rant guys. im just kinda mad that this is happening in a supposedly "Christian" society where even Jesus forgives sinners and literally accepts them, even eating with them. and i'm also mad that this is happening in a country that is supposed to be more accepting and advanced than the last country i was in.
