i picked up my guitar for the first time in like 4 years today because i've wanted to dedicate shabbat to playing instruments and other hobbies for a long time now, but guitar was the big one that i just haven't done anything with for so long. i used to fuck around with it so much when i was like 17 but dropped it when my old amp broke. i have a new one that's been sitting in the garage for years, so i finally brought it out and started picking it back up again. the amp sounds terrible--blown out as fuck for some reason, and i don't think it's because of the cord, i think it just kinda sucks, but ngl it's kind of a vibe, as a unique stylistic sound. it's ugly in an interesting way, so i can work with it for now.
starting off my guitar stuff by playing 'shut me up' by msi, because it's one of the easiest songs in the world to learn. if you're getting in to learning electric guitar or want to, it's a very easy song because it basically just uses power chords, and power chords tend to be super easy a lot of the time, plus it makes you feel cool as fuck for being able to play it, lol.
it's a very nice distraction from the fact that i'm feeling like some very bad memories are hiding behind a crumbling wall and at some point, they're gonna flood me. terrifying but whatever.
