Things that I find interesting about Christianity

To start, I am not a Christian. I have family that is of the faith, but as an autistic person, I cannot bring myself to believe in the gospel of Christ.

Now, while i am not with faith, i do find comfort in some of the stories and specifically the people in the books of the Bible. And as an autistic person, I find myself hyper-empathetic for characters in books and stories, this applying to those in the Bible as well.

I’m going to start with Judas, my personal namesake. I find myself feeling pity for the man. I know that he had betrayed the son of God, Jesus, but if God is all knowing and sent his son to earth to act as the sacrificial lamb for humanity, that means that He knew that not only was one supposed to betray his con, but that He was responsible for that betrayal. If it wasn’t for Judas, humanity would not have had their sins placed upon Jesus. Judas did nothing more that what his God made him for, and yet, we in the current day associate Judas with the unholy and the unkind. Judas loved Jesus and the other disciples, which means that though he loved Jesus, he had no choice but to follow the will of God, and setting up Jesus for the slaughter to have all of their sins washed away, as God had intended, and as Jesus had known he was made for. Jesus knew that he was meant to be killed for humanity, and that Judas would be the one to do so, as it was always God’s plan, hence why he held no ill will towards Judas. This is why he let him eat at his side, as he knew that it was never Judas’ fault, but the fault fell upon God, as everything was always out of Judas’ hands. Jesus understood this, yet today Judas is seen as an evil and selfish person. If anything, Judas should be seen as one of God’s most sacred of creations, being born to assist in the cleansing of humanity’s sins, placing them upon Jesus before he was to be crucified.

I find myself pitying Judas, as God made him for the expressed purpose of betraying the man that he would come to love and admire.

Eve is another character in the Christian Mythos that i find a deep comfort in, for the same reasons that I find comfort in Judas. She was made by a god who knew that she would eat the fruit that He forbid. He forced her hand, if you are of the belief that God knows all and already made all of their sins washed decisions you would make in life for you. He made her from the rib of a man, who did not tell her to not take fruit from the tree of knowledge, not to consume the fruit it bares. God knew that Eve was not informed of this rule, yet He had her go on to do so anyways, as it was his plan for humanity. He set her up for failure, yet Eve bares the blame for this, and not the being that literally made her for this exact moment. Her sons are the same. God made Cain kill his brother, yet punishes him for the choices that were never his to make.

So many in the Bible are deemed as evil, but if you are of faith, I believe that you should pity those who fell under the hand of God
