I love this style of music so much, I just like listening to stories. but go on, tell me about the bananas in Pennsylvania or the fifty ways to leave your lover.
Some of the songs are so goofy, but some just hit your heartstrings, like "Time in a Bottle" or any song by Nick Drake, which is beautiful stuff.
Singer-songwriters from the 70s have to be one of my favorite types of musicins.

Not quite from the 70s (late 60s I think) but I would totally recommend The Windmills of Your Mind by Noel Harrison, I Won't Hurt You by The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band and anything by my DARLING harry nilsson ughh so good you have fantastic taste
I had never heard Windmills of Your Mind and I Won't Hurt You until you remended them, and I have to stay, they are both great songs, amazing taste in music.
And omg Harry Nilson, I forgot about him, I love his music.
