It's fun to know that I was right all along, city pop is not an original or even especially old term.

It's a new term who seems to mostly have been coined by non japanese people who just heard that "Plastic Love" song when it got popular on youtube.

I knew something was odd when I had never heard about city pop before that, despite hearing songs that had the same sound...

If you wanna learn the original term for that kind of music, it's "new music"!
