Gyaru in anime?!
when gyaru in anime are shown they are usually sexualized and that gives anime fans the impression to sexualize us without consent which isn't cool.... so I wanted to talk about an anime that is far from sexualiztion....
SUPER GALS!!! (2002)
The plot leads with Shibuya's number one gal (aka the inspo for my spacehey link lol) Ran Kotobuki! The gal who rules the streets of Shibuya with her fashionable friends Aya and Miyu. These girls do all types of crazy stuff like stopping gang members from attacking Miyu to fun stuff like going to Aodiaba! Be warned that there are very serious stuff like in the dub where the characters say the rword and swear a lot and deal with very sensitive topics like gangs, prostitution, and threatening. Not to mention a relationship of Miyu and ran's wayy older bother Yamato dating which might make viewers uncomfy. I would suggest watching it with if you're 14 and up and/or not that really affected by these topics. And for gals into old school/ganguro, there is a lot of fashion inspo but in my opinion the manga has better fashion inspo. OH! and when reading manga keep in mind a lot of the stories are really different compared to the anime so I suggest reading the manga beforehand. Also for my black gyarus and gyaruos, there are characters like Tatsuki and there is common joke that he's a monkey and he also plays along with it. Also, there are three characters named Tan red, blue, and yellow. So I would understand if you didn't want to watch the show.

Tbh, the manga is a bit more better but if you don't have time for the manga or not a reader I would suggest the anime.
Keep in mind just like ouran host club this show is SUPER problematic but unproblematic for the 2000s. Note: This still doesn't make it okay.
tomorrow's topic: Shopping tips and recs for ganguros!
Okay see you l8r!
