I’m giving up on trying to be ethical

I’m sorry but ima give up. I don’t have the time or the energy to DIY my own clothes, I don’t have the skills either, and I don’t have the money to buy stuff on second hand websites. I hate influencers on TikTok for beating it into my head that im a terrible awful human being for shopping unethically, but I’m 17, I’m unemployed, I’m constantly loaded with work to do both at home and from 6th form, and I'm trying to get into university. 

And keep in mind, most of the influencers saying this are people in their 20s who have grown up money to spend and grown up time on their hands, I don’t, and neither do most people around my age. Like I’ve only ever shopped on websites like SHEIN, Amazon and AliExpress a few times, but I’ve only really ever bought things to make stuff with or small accessories, not actual clothes. 

It genuinely pains me to buy from an unethical source because i know the atrocities that happen to make me a Y2K style graphic tee and makeing it affordable but im just so fucking tired of this convocation. And I know I’m makeing myself a part of the problem but fuck I cant do this anymore! Just let me buy cute clothes! Let me dress and look the way i want without haveing to feel like i deserve to be beaten to the curb for wanting embroidered flaired jeans!

DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH A NEW PAIR JEANS COST THESE DAYS??? 

And before anyone says ‘oh you can just go thrifting’ tf I don’t want the charity shops ugly ass clothes that also come from fast fashion companies da fuq? ‘Learn how to style properly’ there isn’t enough time in my day to do that SAMANTHA. ‘Go onto vinted’ politely fuck off because vinted, Depop and eBay sellers know damn well what they’re doing when they charge £200 for a scene kid style hoodie. Just leave me alone and let me shop in peace.
